Digidesign Wave Drivers for Windows

Digidesign Wave Drivers for Windows

The Wave Drivers allows third party applications such as Sound Forge, Wave Lab., etc. to access your Digidesign hardware. Please read all documentation that accompanies the driver you chose to download.

The file named S8_31_95.zip is for use with Session 8 PC hardware only (version 1.1).

The file named AM3Win95_98.zip is for use with the Audiomedia III. This is A full-duplex driver version 1.3 that supports Windows 95 and some 98 platforms. Win98 assigns resources to newly installed hardware differently that Win95 via the accompanying driver. We have had many calls concerning this driver not being able to configure the AMIII card in PC platforms running Win98. If this problem occurs please try using the Win95/98 standard Plug&Play beta3 driver also available on the site.

The file named PT24WinNT.zip is for use with Pro Tools|24 NT and Pro Toos|24 MIX NT hardware. (this is a beta release. Beta 2). This is an output driver only.

AM3NT.zip is for configuring an AMIII cards on WinNT 4.0 platforms. This is a half-full duplex driver. This Windows NT Wave Driver provides access to the Audiomedia III's input and output, via the NT multimedia Engine technology. The AMIII card provides dramatically superior audio capabilities to that of the host CPU alone.

Win98_PandP_Stn_driver_beta3.zip is the new beta full duplex driver for the AMIII card on Win98 platforms. This driver is a standard windows plug&play driver and installs the AMIII card on Win98 platforms very well. It is not compatible with WinDAE applications (Logic AV) or Session for Windows software. It will not co-exist with these drivers and .dlls. It works with everything else we've tested. It's still beta and is not as full featured as AMWin95_98.zip. So, use beta3 on your 98 platform if it won't configure with AMWin95_98.zip.

DLLS.ZIP is for PT|NT platforms (this is not technically a wave driver). It provides the MIDI routing capability that OMS provides Pro Tools with on Mac platforms. This is a new version that provides compatibility with the Digi Bruno/Reso plug-ins. If you run the Bruno/Reso plug-ins (they both have MIDI inputs), you'll need this version (4.3.1), or Pro Tools NT will crash on launch.

Note : Project II hardware does not support any Digi wave drivers.

The Acrobat Reader document am3_pc_addendum.pdf contains additional installation information.
