ATTO ExpressPCI Plus
Required driver for Pro Tools 6.2.3/6.4 SCSI Host Adapters and Pro Tools 6.4.1 SCSI Accelerator Card Requirements on Mac OS X 10.3.x "Panther".
Included on the Pro Tools 6.2.3, 6.4, and 6.4.1 CDs
Installing SCSI HBA drivers on MAC OS X
If you have a "clean installed" version of Panther (as
opposed to a system that has been updated from Jaguar to Panther),
you only need to run the ATTO 3.0.x installer, which will also remove
any ATTO 2.x drivers from your system.
Note: ATTO drivers v 1.x cannot be de-installed by the ATTO 3.0x
installer. If you have upgraded from Jaguar to Panther without clean-installing
the system, you should check your system for the presence of ATTO
1.x drivers. Before you run the ATTO 3.0.x installer, go to the
System\Library\Extensions folder at the root level of your startup
drive and locate the ATTOExpressPCI.kext or ATTOExpressPCIPlus.kext.
Check the version number. If it is version 1.x, you will then need
to log in as ROOT to de-install the driver.
- If you currently have a Log in as ROOT: Logging in as Admin
will not allow the driver to load properly.
- Detailed procedures for creating the root account and logging
in are available on the Apple support web site. The reference
article is ID
#125136 for OS X 10.3.x
- While logged in as ROOT, delete all copies of the ATTOExpressPCIxxx.KEXT
file you have, including the one in the System\Library\Extensions
folder
- Reboot and login (administrator account)
- Run the ATTO 3.0.x installer

DigiDrive Storage Manager for Mac OS X
10.2.x "Jaguar"
DigiDrive Storage Manager is a utility for tuning and testing your
Avid and DigiDrive SCSI drives. This utility replaces the DigiDriveTuner
utility, and provides a suite of useful diagnostics. This version is
only compatible with Macintosh OS X, and will only work with
Avid and DigiDrive brand SCSI drives. It will not tune FireWire
or IDE/ATA drives.
If you used DigiDriveTuner to tune your DigiDrives when you initially
installed them, there is no need to tune them again. You may
want to install DigiDrive Storage Manager for testing purposes,
but it is not required.
If you have purchased an Avid or DigiDrive SCSI drive and
have not already run DigiDriveTuner or DigiDrive Storage Manager,
you should install DigiDrive Storage Manager, launch it, and click
the "Tune" button. There is no need to select individual
drives, existing data on your drives will not be affected, and the
process only takes a few seconds. Tuning your drives will ensure
that you get maximum performance for Pro Tools.
This version is not compatible with Mac OS X 10.3.x "Panther".
An update for Panther is in progress and will be posted here as
soon as it is available.
