Hardware Repairs

All Digidesign hardware is warranteed for a period of 1 year from date of original purchase from an authorized Digidesign Dealer. Warranty and non-warranty repairs are available under the following conditions.

Inquiries regarding repairs must be handled by calling your nearest Digidesign Technical Support Office in order to determine if an actual hardware repair is required, and to issue a Return Authorization. Repairs are handled by Digidesign factory repair facilities (in California, Ireland, and Japan) or local Authorized Repair Centers*. A valid Return Authorization is required.

In addition to the Digidesign factory repair facilities in California, Ireland, and Japan, Digidesign now has regional Authorized Repair Centers (ARCs). Repairs can be obtained for the products listed in the Digi Product Authorization column below at these ARCs. Repairs under warranty always require a Return Authorization issued by Digidesign Technical Support, regardless of whether the repair is handled by Digidesign or an ARC.

*Notes:

• ARCs do not repair I/Os (interfaces) & cards (except where specified), Avid/Digi hard drives, AVoption|V10, AVoption|XL, AVoption, or Avid Mojo systems. These products can only be repaired at the Digidesign factory repair facilities in California, Ireland, or Japan.
• ARCs listed as authorized for Control Surfaces or All other Control Surfaces are authorized for the following:
  • ProControl product family
  • Control|24
  • Digi 002 (although not a control surface, these facilities also are authorized for Digi 002 Rack)
  • Command|8
• ARCs listed as authorized for ICON are authorized for the following control surfaces:
  • D-Control product family
  • D-Command
• ARCs listed as authorized for VENUE are authorized for all VENUE Live Sound Environment products

Authorized Repair Centers — ARC List

Focusrite Repairs — US & Canada

Effective January 1, 2005, Digidesign no longer provides service on Focusrite hardware. Service in the US and Canada will be provided through the new Focusrite distributor: American Music & Sound, 5304 Derry Avenue Suite C, Agoura Hills, CA, 91301. For Focusrite service, call 1-866-FOCUSRITE. Digidesign continues to service the Digidesign/Focusrite co-branded products Control|24, MBox, and Command|8.

If you already have a Digidesign RA number, please send your product to Thermal Relief Design, Cheyenne West Corporate Center, 2750 W. Brooks Ave., Suite 106, North Las Vegas, NV 89032, USA. They will complete warranty service under the existing authorization number.

Hardware Modifications & Chip Revisions

Like repairs, inquiries regarding hardware modifications such as chip upgrades must be handled by calling your nearest Digidesign Technical Support Office in order to issue a Return Authorization. ARCs that have "Cards" and/or "I/Os" listed under their Digi Product Authorization column above may also be able to perform the following upgrades.

Hardware modifications/upgrades include:

• 888/24 DAC Upgrade (not the Hardware Exchange from original 888 Interface)
• DSP Farm Card AMCC "QC" Chip Revision for Apple Blue & White G3 & G4 models
• SampleCell II Card AMCC "QC" Chip Revision for Apple Blue & White G3 & G4 models
• Audiomedia III card AMCC "QC" Chip Revision for Apple Blue & White G3 & G4 models
• Audiomedia III card AMCC "QC" Chip Revision for some PC models (same revision for Mac or PC)

Notes:

• The above PCI cards (and other older cards) will not work in Power Mac G5 models, regardless of chip revision. For more information, see the bottom of this page: G5 & Digidesign PCI Card Information
• The ADAT Bridge 24-Bit modification for the original ADAT Bridge is no longer available as of May, 2003 due to parts availability

These modifications handled by Tech Support should not be confused with the Hardware Exchange Program handled through Digidesign Telesales/Presales and Digidesign dealers.
